Ready to Represent, Ready to Serve

I am running for an at-large seat on the Board of Education to bring strategic vision, collaborative spirit, and relentless focus on equity to the table. I believe in transparent leadership, authentic engagement, and policies that reflect the lived experiences of Montgomery County families.

My Priorities

  1. Advance Equity
    As a Systemwide Imperative

With over 20 years in the nonprofit sector, I have led initiatives in community engagement, policy advocacy, and operations. As the former Chief Operating Officer and Community Engagement lead for the Black and Brown Coalition for Educational Equity and Excellence *BBC), I championed resource equity and student achievement across MCPS. My work continues today through consulting, coaching, and facilitating workshops that empower leaders and organizations to drive systemic change.

2. Scale What Works Consistently and Equitably

I bring deep expertise in education policy and measurable accountability. In my role with the BBC, I met monthly with current and past MCPS Superintendents and regularly advised district and County leaders on strategies that center student outcomes. My work aligns with the Blueprint for Maryland’s Future, ensuring that oversight and implementation reflect the needs of our most impacted communities.

3. Center Community Voice In Decision Making: Move Beyond Listening to Feedback

My leadership spans grassroots organizing and institutional change. I have served as Gaithersburg Cluster Coordinator, currently serve as MCCPTA DEI Committee Member, and NAACP Parent Council Representative, among other roles. My Co- facilitation of Courageous Conversations and equity-centered trainings has helped schools, nonprofits, and corporations build inclusive cultures and amplify community voice.

Why will I earn your vote?

I will earn your vote because I am ready to lead with clarity, warmth, and accountability; I believe accountability is a GOOD word! My track record speaks for itself; I’m ready to continue to serve all students, and their families, and educators with clarity, compassion, and courage, on a larger scale as an at-large BOE member ensuring that our educational policies reflect the lived realities of our children and their families.
