Advance Equity as a Systemwide Imperative

Every student in Montgomery County Public Schools deserves access to high-quality education, resources, and opportunities. Wylea Chase is focused on advancing equity as a systemwide priority to ensure all students can succeed regardless of background or zip code. Equity must go beyond rhetoric. It requires thoughtful policy reform, inclusive planning, accountability measures, and regular audits to ensure our systems are serving all students.

Wylea’s Work

I lead with a clear moral compass and consistently center justice, access, and belonging. I don’t just talk about equity, I do my best to close opportunity gaps, support children, educators and parents by building the scaffolding enable policy reform, inclusive logistics, audits, etc.

  • With over 20 years in the nonprofit sector, I have led initiatives in community engagement, policy advocacy, and operations.

  • As the former Chief Operating Officer and Community Engagement lead for the Black and Brown Coalition for Educational Equity and Excellence *BBC), I championed resource equity and student achievement across MCPS.

  • My work continues today through consulting, coaching, and facilitating workshops that empower leaders and organizations to drive systemic change.
